The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has made it clear that India is closely monitoring the recent defence agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, acknowledging the longstanding relationship between the two Gulf nations.
MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, speaking at a Friday press conference, emphasized the importance of India's deepening strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia. He stressed that mutual interests and sensitivities would remain a priority amidst these developments.
The agreement, signed during Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to Riyadh, pledges mutual defense between the two countries. In response, India promised to evaluate the agreement's potential impact on its national security and broader regional stability.
