High-level talks between Ukrainian officials and the United States in Florida have centered on establishing "reliable security guarantees" for Kyiv, aligning with a peace plan supported by Washington to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Al Jazeera reported.
The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, who spearheaded the discussions with Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council head, Rustem Umerov, described the session as productive but acknowledged the considerable work still required.
The diplomatic meeting involved key figures such as Witkoff and Jared Kushner, with Witkoff poised to commence discussions in Moscow. Rubio expressed appreciation for the mutual vision shared by participants about not only terminating the war but fostering a prosperous future for Ukraine.
