In a bid to bolster strategic ties, India's High Commissioner to Kenya, Adarsh Swaika, met with Kenya's National Security Advisor, Monica Juma, on Tuesday. The discussions primarily revolved around existing and potential strategic and security-related partnerships. According to a post by the High Commission of India in Kenya, both nations are keen on strengthening their bilateral strategic interests.

The meeting confirmed plans to convene the Kenya-India Joint Commission for Cooperation in New Delhi. This move aims to further cement the relationship between the two countries. On the preceding day, High Commissioner Swaika also held discussions with Kenya's Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs Minister, Musalia W Mudavadi. These talks highlighted the vibrant and evolving cooperation in digital infrastructure, trade, development partnerships, and cultural exchange.

Mudavadi noted the shared history and mutual interests between Kenya and India, emphasizing the importance of advancing their partnership, particularly in trade and tourism sectors. The discussions also touched upon India's upcoming AI Impact Summit and the Raisina Dialogue, events reflecting shared geopolitical and economic interests. India's invitation to Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto for these platforms underlines the profound ties between the two nations, both maritime neighbors with a robust modern relationship.
