Kuwait says Pulwama terror attack contrary to values, divine laws

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI) Kuwait has strongly condemned the Pulwama terror attack, saying it was "contrary to all values, charters and divine laws" and emphasised on the need for international efforts to eradicate terrorism.

Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah have written a letter to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, conveying "utmost sorrow and pain" over the February 14 incident.

"....I would like to confirm the strong condemnations of the State of Kuwait for such a heinous terrorist act that caused the loss of lives of citizens and which is contrary to all values, charters and divine laws, stressing the need to continue all international efforts to combat, eradicate and defeat terrorism," he wrote.

"We offer, Your Excellency, our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the kin of the innocent victims, and we pray to God to shower his mercy on the victims and give their families patience, wishing a speedy recovery and good health for the injured," Al-Sabah said in the letter.

A CRPF convoy was attacked by a suicide bomber of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror outfit in Pulwama district on February 14, killing 40 personnel.

The convoy, comprising 78 buses carrying 2500 personnel, was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar when the terrorist struck. (ANI)
