During the G7 summit in France, Trump committed to doing everything in his power to halt the conflict, following what he described as fruitful talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other Group of Seven leaders.

Arriving at the summit in Evian-les-Bains with an early agreement to end the conflict with Iran, Trump used this diplomatic win to demonstrate his focus on ending the situation in Ukraine. He praised his discussions with Zelenskyy and other G7 leaders during a closed-door session, noting a forthcoming bilateral meeting with Zelenskyy.

Reaffirming his dedication to finding a diplomatic solution, Trump stated, "I'm gonna do whatever I can," while emphasizing the need for Russia to negotiate a deal. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy highlighted the goal of strengthening air defenses and progressing diplomacy. European leaders see changing dynamics in the conflict, and advocate increased support for Ukraine.
