Flyers check-in Simmonds for Hartman

The Philadelphia Flyers traded veteran forward Wayne Simmonds to the Nashville Predators on Monday for forward Ryan Hartman and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2020, according to multiple reports. Simmonds, 30, was in his eighth season with the Flyers after spending his first three seasons with the Los Angeles Kings.

Simmonds has 16 goals and 11 assists in 62 games this season. He addressed a possible deadline-day move after Philadelphia's 4-3 overtime victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night. "This has been my home," he said. "I've lived in Toronto in the offseason and Philadelphia. I can truly say I've given everything I've had to Philadelphia the last eight years."

Simmonds scored more than 30 goals in back-to-back seasons with the Flyers in 2015-16 (32) and 2016-17 (31). In 584 games with Philly, he tallied 203 goals, 175 assists and 784 penalty minutes. Philadelphia hasn't made it past the first round of the playoffs since 2011-12, however. Nashville has its sights set on a deep run this year after acquiring Simmonds and veteran Minnesota Wild forward Mikael Granlund on Monday.

Hartman, 24, has 10 goals and 10 assists in 64 games this season.
