Flyers re-sign Raffl for 2-years worth $3.2M

The Philadelphia Flyers re-signed left wing Michael Raffl to a two-year, $3.2 million extension on Tuesday, the club announced. Raffl, who could have become a free agent after the season, is now signed through the 2020-21 campaign.

The 30-year-old Austrian has played all six seasons of his NHL career with the Flyers and has 70 goals and 62 assists (132 points) in 406 career games. "We're happy to have Michael for the next two years," Philadelphia general manager Chuck Fletcher said in a statement. "Throughout his six seasons with the Flyers he has played a pivotal role in a variety of positions and situations. His versatility, experience and work ethic will be valuable assets to our team going forward."

This season, Raffl has six goals and 12 assists in 61 games. His best goal-scoring season was 2014-15 when he tallied 21. "I'm very happy," Raffl said of the extension in a statement. "We've been working on this for a little bit now. I really like it here. This is the place I want to be and this has been my home, so I'm excited about the next two years.

"We have a young, exciting team and I'm happy to continue to be a part of it going forward."
