Russia's Orenburg regional governor: Water is rising, but situation in Orsk has stabilised

The water in Russia's city of Orenburg is rising but the situation in Orsk has stabilised, the governor of Orenburg region told Russia's President Vladimir Putin on Thursday in a televised meeting.

Water in the Ural river is expected to rise, and the situation with floods has peaked, Denis Pasler said.

Major rivers across Russia and Kazakhstan have burst their banks in the worst flooding seen in the areas in nearly a century.
