Delhi Police have issued prohibitory orders, designating the national capital as a no-flying zone in preparation for Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony for his third term as prime minister on June 9. The directive, signed by Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, aims to ensure security amid potential threats from criminal and anti-social elements.

The prohibitory measures will be enforced for two days, from June 9 to 10, according to the order. The Police Commissioner cited potential threats to public safety, dignitaries, and vital installations as the reason behind the strict measures.

In his order, Arora invoked section 144 of the CrPC, banning the use of sub-conventional aerial devices such as para-gliders, UAVs, and hot air balloons, among others. Violators will be punished under section 188 of the IPC. Since a notice cannot be individually served to everyone concerned, the order was passed ex parte.
