Congress Criticizes Government's 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas' Declaration

The Congress has strongly criticized the government's decision to observe June 25 as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas' to commemorate the Emergency declared in 1975, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of hypocrisy and using the declaration for headline-grabbing. They also allege that the government aims to undermine the rights of Dalits, tribals, and backward classes.

On Friday, Congress lambasted the government's recent decision to declare June 25 as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas,' denouncing it as a hypocritical move by Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at grabbing headlines.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP of insulting the legacy of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar by associating the word 'murder' with the revered Indian Constitution.

The opposition party also announced that November 8, the day of the demonetisation announcement in 2016, will henceforth be observed as 'Aajivika Hatya Diwas' by the people of India.
