An accused in multiple criminal cases died after allegedly falling from his balcony while attempting to evade arrest during a police raid in the Sonaria area, officials stated on Friday. The police had raided his residence based on specific inputs.

The 35-year-old suspect fell from the third floor of his house in Bal Vihar amid heavy rain, SP (Seraikela-Kharswan) Mukesh Kumar Lunayat reported. He faced multiple criminal charges in East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharswan districts.

Family members of the deceased have alleged foul play, demanding that a panel of doctors conduct an in-camera post-mortem examination in the presence of a magistrate. They have also refused to cremate the body until their demands are met. The SP has assured that the post-mortem will be conducted per their requests.
