Four Naxalites Surrender in Chhattisgarh, Citing Disappointment with Maoist Ideology
Four Naxalites, carrying rewards totaling Rs 20 lakh, surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district. They cited disappointment with Maoist atrocities and ideological disillusionment. They turned themselves in to senior police and CRPF officials, motivated by state welfare schemes and anti-Naxalite policies. The surrendered individuals will receive rehabilitation assistance.

In a significant development, four Naxalites with collective bounties of Rs 20 lakh surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Tuesday, according to police reports.
Among the surrendered were two women, influenced by discontent with Maoist atrocities against tribal communities and disillusioned with the group's 'inhuman' and 'hollow' ideology. This was stated by district superintendent of police Kiran Chavan.
The defectors were also inspired by the state government's anti-Naxalite policies and welfare schemes. Kailash alias Kavasi Deva, a deputy commander, had an Rs 8 lakh bounty on his head, while Vanjam Hadma and woman Sukki Madkam, senior cadres, each carried Rs 5 lakh rewards. Another woman, Ravva Deve, carried a Rs 2 lakh bounty. All four, involved in various violent incidents, will now receive Rs 25,000 and rehabilitation as per government policies.
