Fugitive Arrested in Gujarat After Year-and-Half Manhunt
Sanjay Singh Chouhan, who had been on the run for over a year following an alleged assault on a vegetable vendor in Thane, Maharashtra, has been arrested in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The arrest followed technical surveillance and a tip-off. Two other accused attackers remain at large.

Sanjay Singh Chouhan, evading law enforcement for the past eighteen months after allegedly assaulting a vegetable vendor in Maharashtra's Thane district, was apprehended in Jamnagar, Gujarat, an official stated on Thursday.
The assault, which occurred on January 3 last year, left the victim, Yogesh Kamlakar Vansare (29), with serious injuries. The accused, Sanju alias Sanjaysingh Chouhan (27), had escaped to Uttar Pradesh before settling in Gujarat, according to Thane Nagar police station senior inspector Vijaykumar Dehsmukh.
Chouhan was captured based on technical surveillance and a tip-off. Efforts continue to locate the other two suspects involved in the attack. The case, registered last year under the Indian Penal Code, includes charges of grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon and other severe offenses.
