The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for the second week of September to review cross-appeals from Google and the Competition Commission of India (CCI) concerning a case related to Google's alleged monopolistic behavior in the Android mobile sector.
A bench led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, decided that the pleas warrant final disposal after Senior Advocate Harish Salve suggested delaying the hearing.
Previously, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) had partially upheld a Rs 1,338 crore fine against Google for anti-competitive practices while annulling certain conditions such as restrictions on third-party app stores in Google's Play Store.
