Serbia's Emergence as Europe's EV Powerhouse

EU Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic announced that Serbia could become the first European country to develop a complete supply chain from lithium mining to electric vehicle manufacturing. This initiative, viewed positively by the EU, promises significant benefits for Serbia's economy.

Serbia could be the first European country to have the whole supply chain from mining lithium to manufacturing electric vehicles, said EU Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic.

"Serbia, as it looks like right now, would be the first European country which would have the whole value chain from lithium down to the electric vehicles built here in Serbia. And we are very happy about it because it's an excellent project for Serbia," said Sefcovic on Friday during a visit to Belgrade.
