Israeli forces escalated their offensive across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, killing at least 39 Palestinians, including journalist Mohammad Abu Jasser and his family, according to health officials. Tanks pushed deeper into western and northern Rafah, intensifying the conflict.

Gaza's Hamas-run government media office reported that Abu Jasser's death brought the number of Palestinian media personnel killed since October 7 to 161. A separate air strike on an encampment housing displaced families killed at least 10 people just before midnight.

In Rafah, Israeli forces advanced deeper into northern areas and seized control of a strategic hilltop amid fierce battles with Hamas fighters. The Israeli military reported significant operations against militants' infrastructure, while ongoing ceasefire efforts led by Qatar and Egypt have so far failed.
