Lawyer Alleges Assault Over Corruption Exposures in Thane

Authorities in Thane, Maharashtra, have filed charges against eight individuals following allegations by Nilesh Jadhav, a 37-year-old lawyer, who claims they assaulted him and his colleague, Sagar Tembhe. Jadhav had exposed corruption in several projects, including a major highway, which may have provoked the attack.

Jadhav reported that the group attacked the two with sharp weapons on Tuesday night while they were returning home. The assailants fled when the victims raised an alarm, according to an official FIR report. Both Jadhav and Tembhe were admitted to a local hospital, with Jadhav later being moved to a medical facility in Mumbai for further treatment.

The Mahatma Phule Chowk police station is actively investigating the case and attempting to track down the alleged attackers.
