Dr. Subhashchandra Soni Appointed as Gujarat's Chief Information Commissioner

Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat appointed Dr. Subhashchandra Soni as the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of Gujarat. Three new Information Commissioners, Manoj Patel, Nikhil Bhatt, and Subramaniam R Iyer, were also appointed to fill vacancies. Soni replaces Amrut Patel whose term ends on July 29.

Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat has appointed Dr. Subhashchandra Soni as the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of the state.

In addition to appointing Soni, who previously served as an additional secretary in the Gujarat government, the governor has filled three vacancies in the Gujarat Information Commission by appointing Manoj Patel, Nikhil Bhatt, and Subramaniam R Iyer as Information Commissioners.

Soni, whose term as Information Commissioner ended in September 2023, will replace the outgoing CIC Amrut Patel, whose term concludes on July 29.
