Jaishankar Fortifies Bilateral Ties with Turkey at ASEAN Meet

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan during the ASEAN meetings in Laos. They discussed bilateral ties and global issues. Jaishankar participated in various cultural interactions, addressed the East Asia Summit, and raised concerns about Indian nationals being trafficked. Additionally, he launched a Yoga protocol in the Lao language.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Saturday to discuss bilateral ties and regional and global issues. The meeting took place in Laos' capital during the ASEAN meetings.

Jaishankar, attending the 31st ASEAN Regional Forum and the 14th East Asia Summit, also engaged in cultural interactions with scholars and monks from Laos. He launched a Yoga protocol in the Lao language, highlighting the partnership between India and Laos in education and capacity building.

On the same day, Jaishankar called on Laos Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, discussing Indian nationals' trafficking and cooperation in defense and energy. He also signed MoUs on Quick Impact Projects under the Mekong Ganga Cooperation initiative, strengthening ties in tourism, culture, education, and transport.
