On July 28, 2024, the valedictory function of the 'Lok Samvardhan Parv' was held at Dilli Haat, New Delhi, presided over by Shri George Kurian, Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying. The event, part of the Ministry of Minority Affairs' 100 days' programme, aimed to showcase the ministry's schemes, programmes, and achievements while highlighting successful collaborations with partner organizations.

In his valedictory address, Minister Kurian praised the 'Lok Samvardhan Parv' for effectively popularizing the ministry's initiatives through a comprehensive poster exhibition. He commended the exhibition of unique schemes and success stories from State Channelizing partners of the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC). The event also featured contributions from key knowledge partners, including the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and the National Institute of Design (NID), who displayed artisans supported under various ministry schemes.

Kurian highlighted the role of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) YuWaah in showcasing the work of artisans through youth and partner organizations. He lauded the Government E Marketplace (GeM) for aiding artisans with online marketing, and acknowledged Ambedkar University, Delhi, for their support in organizing the event. The Minister also appreciated the daily workshops conducted by the Export Promotion Council of Handicraft (EPCH) on export marketing, which were well-attended by artisans and visitors.

The event also featured cultural evenings showcasing the rich heritage of minority communities through performances such as Singhi Chamm (Lion Dance), Manipuri Dance, Bhangra, and various folk dances from Kerala. Workshops on origami, doll and toy making, and sketching/paintings engaged children from several Delhi schools, fostering interest in traditional heritage. Additionally, a quiz competition on general awareness provided young visitors with food coupons as rewards.

'Lok Samvardhan Parv' celebrated over 70 exquisite handicraft and handloom products from various states, made by 162 artisans from minority communities. The artisans, promoted under various ministry schemes and nominated by NMDFC's State Channelizing Agencies, achieved total sales of Rs. 1.03 crore by July 27, 2024.

Minister Kurian concluded by emphasizing that the 'Lok Samvardhan Parv' reflects the inclusive development program of the Ministry, benefiting a wide range of individuals from all minority communities through effective partnerships. The Ministry remains committed to the mantra of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas" (Together with All, Development for All, Trust of All, Effort by All).
