Uttarakhand CM Dhami Pledges Support Amidst Tehri Rain Havoc

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami assured residents of a relief camp in rain-affected Tehri district of the state's support. He highlighted efforts to relocate the worst-affected, repair infrastructure, and ensure the welfare of vulnerable groups. The Chief Minister emphasized disaster preparedness and field inspected the hardest-hit areas.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday assured residents of a relief camp in the rain-stricken Tehri district of continued government support. Dhami instructed officials to make proper arrangements for children, pregnant women, the elderly, and the disabled.

During his visit to the temporary relief camp at Government Inter College, Vinak Khal, housing around 50 affected families, Dhami emphasized ongoing efforts to restore normalcy in the district. He confirmed that the relocation process for residents of the severely impacted Tingarh village had commenced, with surveys underway to determine the needs of other villages.

The Chief Minister committed to the swift construction of a safety wall and the reconstruction of damaged school buildings, bridges, and embankments, assuring that funding would not hinder disaster protection initiatives. He expressed condolences for the deaths due to a landslide in Toli village and conducted a field inspection of Tingarh village, urging officials to monitor threatened homes closely. District Magistrate Mayur Dikshit noted that a geological survey had been completed for Tingarh's relocation and that land identification was in progress.
