Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh affirmed the effectiveness of the Centralized Public Grievances Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) in addressing citizens' grievances from even the most remote parts of the country. Speaking in response to an unstarred question in Lok Sabha, Dr. Singh emphasized the platform's efficiency in resolving complaints in a timely manner.
CPGRAMS, accessible via pgportal.gov.in, allows citizens to lodge grievances related to Central Ministries, Departments, State Governments, and Union Territories. Dr. Singh highlighted that the government has collaborated with Common Service Centres (CSCs) to assist people from rural areas in filing grievances. Additionally, grievances can be submitted via post or mail.
The government has also established a 50-seater Feedback Call Centre operating in 10 regional languages, including Odiya, as well as Hindi and English. This centre not only gathers feedback on the resolution of grievances but also helps citizens file appeals if they are dissatisfied with the outcomes.
Dr. Singh also detailed the implementation of the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), which provides financial assistance to widows. Under this scheme, widows aged 40-79 receive ₹300 per month, while those aged 80 and above receive ₹500 per month.
Further demonstrating the government's commitment to addressing grievances, Dr. Singh shared that a month-long Special Campaign from July 1, 2024, focused on resolving Family Pension grievances, particularly benefiting widows. To date, 1,140 Family Pension cases have been successfully resolved during this campaign.
Dr. Singh's update underscores the government's dedication to ensuring that citizens' grievances are addressed promptly and effectively, leveraging digital platforms and collaborative efforts to enhance the redressal process.
