ARF Calls for Peaceful Resolutions in South China Sea and Beyond

The ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) has made a call for self-restraint and conflict resolution in the South China Sea, in accordance with international law. This statement was released on Thursday by its chair, Laos, following the forum's recent meeting.

Participants at the ARF also urged for the protection of civilians in Myanmar, the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, and open dialogue between involved parties. Additionally, the forum expressed concerns regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The meeting in Laos was attended by foreign ministers from ASEAN countries, as well as representatives from China, India, Japan, the United States, the European Union, Russia, and Australia, among others.
