The Karnataka government has strongly advised Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to retract his show-cause notice issued to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The notice demands an explanation for why prosecution sanction is not being accorded in connection with the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam.
Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, speaking after a Cabinet meeting, lambasted the Governor's decision, describing it as a 'murder of democracy and Constitution.' He asserted that the Cabinet has decided to strongly urge the Governor to withdraw the notice.
'There is no case for prosecution here,' Shivakumar stated emphatically.
