Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday criticized the Samajwadi Party for its handling of law and order, noting a significant reduction in crime rates compared to the previous government's tenure.
During a supplementary budget discussion in the assembly, Adityanath highlighted a case involving an SP worker from Ayodhya accused of raping a 12-year-old girl, questioning the party's lack of action.
Adityanath referred to another incident where a lawyer was murdered in Hardoi, allegedly by the district president of the SP, who has multiple criminal charges against him.
Presenting National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, Adityanath emphasized a marked improvement in reducing various crimes including robbery, murder, riots, and crimes against women.
