Ukraine's Bold Move: A Dilemma for Putin
Ukraine's recent military incursion into Russia has led to significant challenges for Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to U.S. President Joe Biden. Biden, who has been closely monitoring the situation, notes that the U.S. is in continual contact with Ukraine regarding their objectives and actions.
Ukraine's military incursion into Russia has presented a significant challenge for Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Joe Biden stated on Tuesday. Biden added that U.S. officials are maintaining constant communication with the Ukrainians about the operation.
A week after approximately 1,000 Ukrainian troops crossed the Russian border with tanks and armored vehicles on August 6, American officials are still trying to understand Ukraine's goals. Biden, speaking to reporters in New Orleans, mentioned he has been briefed every four to five hours for the past week about Ukraine's actions.
The United States has provided substantial military aid to Ukraine for defensive purposes against Russia's 2022 invasion. In May, Biden authorized Kyiv to target military installations in Russia supporting the offensive against Kharkiv. Despite Ukraine's lack of prior notice for the incursion in Russia's Kursk region, the U.S. has denied any involvement in the operation.
