ACB Raids Spotlight High-Profile Corruption in Chhattisgarh

The Chhattisgarh Anti Corruption Bureau and Economic Offence Wing conducted raids at 24 locations in four states, targeting IAS officers Ranu Sahu, Sameer Vishnoi, and state service officer Saumya Chaurasia in connection to disproportionate assets cases. Arrests and seizures of documents and devices were made to further the investigation.

The Chhattisgarh Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Economic Offence Wing (EOW) on Friday carried out extensive raids across 24 locations in four states in connection with disproportionate assets cases involving high-ranking officials. The targeted figures include Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers Ranu Sahu and Sameer Vishnoi, and state service officer Saumya Chaurasia, authorities revealed.

During the day's operations, the ACB/EOW arrested Manish Upadhyay, identified as a key accused in the alleged coal levy scam, from Durg district. Previously accused IAS officers Sahu, Vishnoi, and Chaurasia are currently imprisoned due to their alleged involvement in the same scam exposed during the previous Congress rule.

A total of 20 locations in Chhattisgarh, along with sites in Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Karnataka, were raided. Authorities seized a vast array of documents including those related to benami properties, vehicles, and electronic devices containing crucial information. The investigation is ongoing as further evidence is being examined.
