A significant development in the MUDA scam case occurred on Saturday, when a complainant filed a caveat in the Karnataka High Court following Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's authorization to prosecute Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

The controversy centers on allegations that Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi, was allotted compensatory sites in a prime Mysuru area, allegedly benefiting from higher property values compared to her previously acquired land.

Opposition parties have accused the Chief Minister of misusing his position, sparking complaints from three activists, including filing complaints with Governor Gehlot.

Denying any wrongdoing, Siddaramaiah claims his wife is entitled to fair compensation and labels the accusations as an attempt to destabilize his government.

Governor Gehlot's permission to prosecute Siddaramaiah signals the initiation of legal scrutiny into the alleged improper site distribution.

Siddaramaiah is expected to challenge the Governor's decision in High Court. With the recently filed caveat, the court must consider the original complainant's arguments before making any judgment, according to legal experts.

Pradeep Kumar, one of the complainants, explained to the media that the caveat ensures Siddaramaiah cannot obtain relief without presenting the opposing arguments. The Karnataka government and CM have yet to respond legally to the prosecution sanction.

T J Abraham, another complainant, has also indicated plans to file a caveat on Monday.
