Civilians in Ukraine's eastern strategic hub of Pokrovsk and nearby Myrnohrad have no more than two weeks and a few days, respectively, to evacuate as Russian troops advance, officials announced on Monday.
The Pokrovsk front is currently the epicenter of intense fighting in eastern Ukraine, with a record number of clashes last week. Russian forces are now just over 10 kilometers from Pokrovsk's outskirts, local authorities reported.
City military administration head Serhiy Dobriak emphasized the urgency of evacuation efforts, noting that about 53,000 people, including nearly 4,000 children, remain in the area. Myrnohrad has faced Russian artillery fire for three days and local administrative operations are being relocated.
