Opposition parties in Goa have lambasted the state government for failing to enforce a High Court order aimed at curtailing loud music from beachside nightspots. Critics say the administration is allowing establishments to flout the law with impunity.

The Goa bench of the Bombay High Court recently mandated that nightclubs must install online noise meters to monitor outdoor music volumes. Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Patkar and Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao highlighted ongoing disturbances in North Goa's Anjuna area, despite residents' nightly protests and revoked permits. Patkar accused nightclub owners of obstructing enforcement by deploying bouncers.

AAP MLA Venzy Viegas joined residents in calling for police action. The Goa State Pollution Control Board has noted some compliance but said further steps are needed to bring all establishments in line.
