Four Sentenced to Life for Brutal Murder in Assam
A court in Assam's Sonitpur district sentenced four individuals to rigorous life imprisonment for murdering an auto-rickshaw driver, Mohammad Jalil, with sharp weapons in 2017. The District Sessions Judge also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each convict, with an additional six months of imprisonment for any defaults.

Four individuals were sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment by a court in Assam's Sonitpur district on Wednesday for the murder of an auto-rickshaw driver eight years ago.
District Sessions Judge Debashish Bhattacharjee handed down the sentences to Akbar Ali, Hazrat Ali, Babar Ali, and Abu Hanif, along with a fine of Rs 10,000 each.
The convicted individuals killed auto-rickshaw driver Mohammad Jalil on July 5, 2017, at Khaliamari under the Borghat Police Station limits. The judge noted that the killing was due to a previous dispute and was premeditated.
