The Meghalaya Police have concluded their investigation into an alleged violent attack on a family by three BSF personnel in East Jaintia Hills district, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong announced to the Assembly on Friday.

Deputy Chief Minister Tynsong revealed that the case had been registered at Khliehriat Women Police Station after the incident was reported on June 20. "The investigation has been completed and the chargesheet is ready," Tynsong, who also holds the Home department portfolio, confirmed in response to a call attention notice.

Martina Poshna from Kuliang village lodged an FIR which stated that on the night of June 19, three individuals claiming to be BSF personnel forcefully entered her home and attacked her family. The assailants severely beat her husband, Shanroi Lyngdoh, resulting in a broken rib. Despite efforts to disarm them, they overpowered the family. Later, they returned with a larger group, resumed their assault, and allegedly abused Poshna's 15-year-old daughter.
