Roadside Bomb Attack in Pakistan: Three Dead Including Security Officials

A roadside bomb detonated in northern Pakistan on Monday has claimed the lives of three individuals, including two security officials, according to local police.

The attack, which occurred in the Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, also left one passenger injured. Authorities have identified the bus's destination as Dasu, where Pakistan's largest hydropower project, supported by Chinese investment, is under development.

Though no group has taken responsibility for the bombing, suspicions are directed towards the Pakistani Taliban. Known locally as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, the organization has intensified attacks on security forces in recent years. The group maintains a significant presence in the region and has gained confidence since the Afghan Taliban's rise to power in 2021.
