The World Health Organization (WHO) in Gaza announced on Tuesday that it has surpassed its expected targets for polio vaccinations on the third day of its mass campaign.

Rik Peeperkorn, WHO representative for the Occupied Palestinian territories, reported that over 161,000 children under ten had been vaccinated within the first two days, exceeding the projected 150,000.

'Up until now things are going well,' Peeperkorn stated. 'These humanitarian pauses, up until now they work. We still have ten days to go.'
