Deadly Assault at Jordan-Israel Border Amid Gaza Conflict
Three Israeli civilians were killed in an attack at the Allenby Bridge Crossing on the Jordanian border, linked to the ongoing Gaza conflict. Israel and Jordan temporarily closed border crossings following the incident. The attack comes amid heightened tensions and violence between Israel, Palestinians, and regional militant groups.
In a tragic escalation of the Gaza conflict, three Israeli civilians were shot dead at the Allenby Bridge Crossing, a critical border passage between Jordan and Israel, on Sunday. Israeli officials confirmed that the assailant, who approached from the Jordanian side, was killed in the ensuing shootout.
Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service identified the victims as men in their 50s. Jordanian authorities have initiated an investigation, as the country balances its peace treaty with Israel against significant domestic opposition to Israeli policies towards Palestinians.
The attack underscores rising tensions in the region, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blaming Iran and its proxies, including Hamas and Hezbollah. The conflict has already displaced millions and resulted in substantial casualties on both sides.
