West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose declared on Thursday that he will no longer share public platforms with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee due to widespread outrage over the RG Kar hospital debacle.
In a video message, Governor Bose announced his decision to socially boycott the Chief Minister and take proactive steps against her for alleged constitutional violations. He emphasized that his role will solely adhere to constitutional obligations.
The governor's remarks followed the breakdown of a proposed meeting between Banerjee and agitated junior doctors, who refused to negotiate without live-streaming privileges. The state government offered video recording, which the medics rejected. Bose reiterated his commitment to the people of Bengal and criticized the government's handling of the crisis.
