Gaza Tragedy: Israeli Strike Hits School Shelter
Israeli strike in southern Gaza City kills at least 22 people, mostly women and children, in a school sheltering displaced individuals. The strike, targeting a Hamas command center, also led to casualties in Rafah. Conflict continues with a ceasefire hindered by territorial control disputes and prisoner exchanges.
A devastating Israeli strike has killed at least 22 people, including many women and children, in a school sheltering displaced individuals in southern Gaza City on Saturday. The Israeli military stated that the target was a Hamas command center within the school's compound, an accusation Hamas denies.
In a separate incident in Rafah, the Gaza health ministry reported that an Israeli strike on ministry warehouses resulted in the deaths of four health workers. Ambulance crews faced difficulties reaching the scene. Israel claimed its operations in Rafah have eliminated dozens of militants.
The ongoing conflict, ignited on Oct. 7 by a Hamas attack on Israel, continues to escalate. Efforts for a ceasefire are stalled by disputes over territorial control and the exchange of hostages. According to local health officials, the conflict has resulted in over 41,000 Palestinian deaths and widespread displacement.
