Hezbollah Stands Firm Amidst Israeli Offensive

Hezbollah's deputy leader Naim Qassem declared the group's readiness to confront any Israeli ground invasion in a speech after Israeli airstrikes killed their veteran chief Hassan Nasrallah. The recent attacks on Lebanon by Israel, killing around 1,000 Lebanese, have prompted Hezbollah to continue its resistance while plans are made to choose a new leader.

'We will face any possibility and we are ready for a ground engagement,' Qassem declared from an undisclosed location.

Israeli airstrikes have continued to pound Lebanon, claiming around 1,000 lives and displacing a million people. Despite losing significant leaders and communication assets, Hezbollah remains defiant, continuing rocket attacks deep into Israel. Qassem emphasized their readiness and resilience, referencing their victory in 2006.

Israel's Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has suggested that more robust actions could follow to ensure the safety of Israel's northern communities. Meanwhile, Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has expressed willingness to implement a U.N. resolution to curb Hezbollah's armed presence as the conflict extends across multiple fronts.
