Iran Criticizes G7's Response to Middle East Tensions
Iran has criticized the Group of Seven (G7) for their condemnation of its missile attack on Israel, calling the stance 'biased and irresponsible.' The Iranian action was in response to the killings of militant leaders in Gaza and Lebanon. The G7 emphasized the importance of a diplomatic resolution to the crisis.
Iran has labeled the Group of Seven (G7) condemnation of its missile attack on Israel as 'biased and irresponsible,' according to a statement from Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei.
The attack, which involved over 180 missiles, was said to be in retaliation for the deaths of militant leaders and perceived aggression in Gaza and Lebanon. The incident also claimed the life of Abbas Nilforoushan, a deputy commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
Despite the tensions, G7 leaders have expressed strong concern but believe a diplomatic resolution is still possible. They highlighted the need to avoid a region-wide conflict and reiterated the responsibility of G7 countries, particularly the United States, in heightened insecurity due to their support of Israel.
