In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old was arrested for allegedly burning pages of religious books at a shrine, police reported on Wednesday.

The accused, identified as Danish, was detained after the October 5 incident ignited outrage among local residents of Mohalla Kila Colony. Authorities confirmed an FIR was lodged against an unknown individual, initiating an investigation that eventually led to Danish's capture.

Senior Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Singh stated that Danish confessed to the crime, explaining he was under the influence of narcotics following a family dispute. Police also confiscated 40 grams of Diazepam from him during the arrest.
