A Mumbai court has granted bail to advertising firm director Bhavesh Bhinde, the prime accused in the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse that killed 17 people in May.
Judge V M Pathade allowed Bhinde's plea, as his lawyer claimed the mishap was an 'act of God' and linked to political motives. Despite prosecution opposition citing evidence of involvement, Bhinde argued unexpected wind caused the collapse, and he wasn't director when the hoarding was installed.
The incident involved a billboard crashing onto a petrol pump during bad weather, raising allegations of illegal placement on railway land.
