Corruption Crisis: Policemen and Corporator Arrested in Bribery Case

Two policemen and a corporator have been detained for allegedly extorting a businessman by threatening him with police action, including sealing his house. The victim, who borrowed money to pay the bribe, reported the incident, leading to an investigation and the suspension of the accused officers.

Two policemen and a corporator were apprehended on Monday amid allegations of bribery after they threatened a local businessman, according to officials.

The suspended policemen allegedly warned the victim, operating a candle manufacturing unit, of dire consequences, such as sealing his house for his alleged illegal business activities.

Following a complaint by the businessman, a formal investigation was initiated, resulting in the suspension of sub-inspectors Ashish Chaudhry and Anuj Nagar, with corporator Rajput Sahu also detained for questioning.
