A case of alleged sexual harassment has been registered against office-bearers of an Urdu medium school in Akola district, Maharashtra, following a surprise inspection by the state minority commission.

The commission's chairman, Pyare Ziya Khan, visited the school at Patur upon receiving complaints from female teachers about harassment and threats. Teachers alleged that the school management extorted 20-30 percent of their salaries.

The First Information Report charges four individuals with infractions under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including assault, sexual harassment, obscene acts, and extortion. Meanwhile, the school was found lacking in both students and teachers, raising concerns about mismanagement.
