Euro zone bond yields maintained stability on Thursday, after witnessing significant increases this week. The recent change is attributed to U.S. President Donald Trump's assurances of bringing a quick resolution to the Ukraine war.
Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, directing U.S. officials to initiate negotiations to conclude the conflict, now nearing its third anniversary.
Germany's 10-year bond yield remained flat at 2.475%. It rose by 12 basis points following strong inflation data from the U.S. The two-year yield was also steady, reflecting European Central Bank's interest rate expectations. Italy's 10-year yield saw a minimal decrease, indicating a slight narrowing in the spread between Italian and German bonds.
