Teen's Horrific Ordeal: Family Members Accused of Rape and Forced Abortion

A teenager from Maharashtra's Palghar district has accused her brother and uncle of repeated sexual assault and forced abortion. The police have arrested both accused, who face charges under multiple laws including the POCSO Act.

A teenage girl from Maharashtra's Palghar district has accused her brother and uncle of repeatedly raping her and forcing her to undergo an abortion. An official confirmed the arrest of the 18-year-old brother and the uncle, whose age was not disclosed, by the Mira-Bhayandar, Vasai-Virar police.

According to the 16-year-old's complaint, the sexual assaults occurred multiple times between October and December of the previous year. Upon discovering her pregnancy, her uncle allegedly took her to a medical facility on Grant Road in Mumbai for an abortion against her will.

The accused have been charged with rape, causing a miscarriage without a woman's consent, and criminal intimidation, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, according to law enforcement authorities.
