On Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov firmly stated there would be no territorial concessions by Russia to Ukraine in any forthcoming peace discussions. This declaration underscores Moscow's steadfast stance on the matter.
In September 2022, Russia announced the annexation of Ukrainian regions including Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia. This move has been met with widespread condemnation and rejection by Ukraine and numerous Western countries, who view the act as both absurd and illegal.
Lavrov's remarks further highlight the ongoing tensions in the region and the challenging path towards potential diplomatic resolutions.
