Susan Manko, Vice President of Public Relations for UPMC, confirmed in a statement that law enforcement is currently on-site to manage the situation. She further advised employees not scheduled to work to remain at home.

The hospital requested families of arriving patients to go to the OSS building's parking lot, located across the street from the hospital. UPMC Memorial, a five-story facility with 104 beds, has been in operation since 2019.
