Alleged Goat Thief Lynched in Jharkhand

A 40-year-old labourer named Salim Khan from Madhya Pradesh was lynched by a mob in Jharkhand's Latehar district. He was accused of stealing goats. Khan worked at a brick kiln and was allegedly beaten following accusations of theft. Six individuals have been detained for interrogation.

In a tragic incident in Jharkhand’s Latehar district, a 40-year-old labourer from Madhya Pradesh, identified as Salim Khan, was lynched by a mob over accusations of stealing goats.

The incident occurred in Goa village under Sadar police station around 11 pm on Saturday. Khan, who had been working at a local brick kiln for three months, was accused by villagers of theft after reportedly going to the village to consume liquor.

The police, alerted to the situation, arrived promptly but unfortunately, Khan was declared dead on arrival at Latehar Sadar Hospital. Currently, six people are being detained for questioning regarding the incident as investigations continue.
