The Punjab Government's aggressive anti-drug campaign, 'Yudh Nashian Virudh', has resulted in the registration of 875 FIRs and the arrest of 1,188 drug traffickers in the past 12 days, according to Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema. Launched on February 25, the initiative has already seen significant outcomes.

Minister Cheema criticized previous governments for fostering Punjab's drug epidemic and claimed the current AAP government is making strides toward a drug-free state by modernizing the police force and increasing conviction rates under the NDPS Act. The conviction rate now stands at 86 percent during the AAP's tenure.

The campaign not only targets traffickers but also focuses on prevention through outreach programs with universities and local communities. The government pledges continued efforts to eradicate drug addiction and improve mental health support, with a strong commitment to putting every trafficker behind bars or out of Punjab.
