Sikkim is set to enhance its police force's capabilities with the introduction of two new funding initiatives, the Special Investigation Fund and the Special Traffic Management Fund, unveiled by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Monday. The funds are poised to bolster operational efficiency across the state's law enforcement apparatus.
During a ceremonial function that featured the launch of 13 new fire tenders, Chief Minister Tamang underscored the critical need for a well-equipped and proactive police force. He called for increased field participation from senior officials, asserting that effective policing directly correlates with lower crime rates.
The CM placed his trust in newly appointed DGP Akshay Sachdeva, looking forward to exemplary standards in policing. Tamang assured the police and fire services of government backing, citing their foundational role in maintaining societal order.
